As you’re probably wondering, affiliate marketing is one of the easiest most lucrative ways to make money on the internet. Affiliate marketing is when an individual, you, advertises another company’s or person’s product or service for them, and in turn, that company or person pays you a share of the profits that are received because of the advertising. That’s pretty much all it is in a nutshell.
A fair warning…because of the nature of affiliate marketing, in no way should you be required to pay to be an affiliate. It doesn’t make sense and its a scam. You are advertising their product or services for them, therefore the only one that needs to be paying is the entity you are advertising for.
Okay, now that’s out of the way, let’s get some foundational information on being an affiliate.
One of the first things you want to do is determine what your financial goals are. Do you want to just make an extra $500-$2000 a month just to pay some bills? Or do you want to completely replace your current income? Or do you want to be a millionaire? Whatever the case may be, affiliate marketing can help you achieve these goals.
Next, you want to sign up with a few affiliate programs. They’re practically everywhere! A couple of good ones that I have found are Clickbank and Max Bounty. Both of these programs have thousands of companies who are looking for people to advertise their products and services for them. A lot of them have extremely high pay outs per lead. Choose the ones that interest you, or that you feel would do really well in the market.
After that, you want to decide how many campaigns to run. As mentioned before, affiliate marketing can help you meet your goals, no matter how big or small. Of course if you want to become a millionaire or something along those lines, you will need to run many campaigns. Campaigns are the selected products or services you choose to advertise. If you only want extra cash, you can choose to run only one or two campaigns if you wish.
Now to the fun part. Now you have to figure out how and where to advertise these campaigns. One really good way that I recommend highly is using Google Adwords. You’ve probably heard it a million times, but it really does work. You can set your budget, create your ad campaigns and let them rip! There are also many, many free ways to advertise your programs as well. One key tool in affiliate marketing is posting on free advertising sites. Its as easy as putting in the search term “free classified ads” and choosing which ones to post on.
Use caution with these sites. Many of them are really cracking down on spam. So do not post more than once a week on these sites or you will be banned permanently. More importantly, take time to write effective ads for your campaigns. You want to draw people in and make them interested in what you are offering them. This also means carefully proofreading and editing your ads. I cannot tell you what damage misspelling and bad grammar can do to your advertising efforts.
A secret tool that I use is called BlastOMatic. It is a free site that blasts your ad to 12 million ad sites. This really works for me and it has given me great results. I would recommend this to affiliate marketing beginners and experts alike. Its very useful and as I mentioned before, it works!
